Google Adds Recommendations To +1 Button (Get It Before Everyone Else!) [Updates]
A new feature has been added to the Google +1 button which will appeal to site owners and users alike. The new feature offers on-site recommendations when a user hovers over the +1 button, showing relevant pages and other pages recommended by friends on Google+. And the best part: if you already have the +1 button on your website, you don’t have to anything. The feature will roll out to users over the next few weeks.
In order to keep the recommendations relevant, they will always refer to pages under the same domain the user is currently on. So if, for example, you are on a MakeUseOf article and hover over the +1 button, you will immediately get recommendations for other popular MakeUseOf pages recommended by other users.
If you can’t see this feature yet, don’t worry, it’s still being rolled out as is usual with Google. If you want to see it before everyone else, you can sign up for the Google+ Platform Preview group, and get a sneak peek of the features before they’re officially rolled out. The sign up process is very quick and you can also provide feedback about the feature, if you think something’s missing.
Do you think you would use these Google +1 recommendations, or is it just more clutter?
